Our cruise directors will help you to explore your chosen destination and make the most of your time, and each possesses a caring and professional manner. It is like being with a trusted friend accompanying, rather than taking you, to a destination they really love. You will learn far more from them than you will from many guidebooks – our cruise directors’ enthusiasm and intimate knowledge of the destination will bring your holiday to life.
We also use the services of specially chosen local guides who really know their subject. In addition to providing detailed relevant background information, they can also help you connect to the local way of life and culture of a destination.
Lale is a Cruise Director for our Douro, Porto & Salamanca river cruise.
"People hardly spend any time in their cabins because they're hooked to this family ambience that we create."
Hanna is a Cruise Director on the Rhine, Danube and Moselle rivers, plus the Black Sea cruise.
“I love my job because I get to see first hand how much our customers enjoy cruising with us and I can share my enthusiasm for the places we visit.”
Anette is a Cruise Director on the Rhine and Moselle rivers and has been with Riviera River Cruises for 21 years.
“Every member of the crew plays their part in delivering a superb onboard experience and it’s a real privilege to work alongside such a great team of people.”
We are very proud of our large team of cruise directors who come from a variety of backgrounds. Every year we receive an enormous amount of applications for this interesting and demanding role, and though we are not currently recruiting our requirements may change. The ability to speak other languages pertinent to our destinations is an advantage, although not a pre-requisite.
